Common mode hum caused by differences in ground potential is often found in long video cables, incoming and outgoing lines, and separate power distribution systems. The ADC Humbucker eliminates 99.6% of a 10 volt p-p 50/60 Hz ground induced hum, in a 200 foot (61 m) RG59 coaxial cable run. The actual amount of hum reduction depends on cable length, cable type, ground loop potential and ground loop frequency.Notes
