An Avid-qualified system is required. The following list is preliminary as of April 1, 2003 and subject to change: PC HP xw8000 Workstation: Dual 2.8 GHz Intel xeon processor with NVIDIA Quadro4 980 XGL card and integrated 1394 port Dell Latitude C840 Notebook: 1.8 - 2.4 GHz Mobile P4 with integrated graphics and 1394 port. (Note: only the 40GB drive available with this model delivers adequate performance.) Macintosh Apple Power Mac: Dual 1.42 GHz G4 processor with NVIDA GeForce4 Titanium card and integrated FireWire port Apple PowerBook: 1 GHz G4 15" and 17" notebooks, with integrated graphics and FireWire port For all Avid Media Composer Adrenaline systems, the following are required: Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 1 on PC systems Mac OS X 10.2.4 or later on Macintosh systems 1 GB minimum system memory A qualified graphics card (specified per system above) An IEEE-1394 (FireWire) port (see NOTE 1) 40 GB or larger internal disk drive A DVD-ROM drive for using the online tutorial or online documentation Avid Media Composer Adrenaline will also be available in complete system packages that include Media Composer Adrenaline software, Adrenaline DNA hardware, and an HP xw8000 dual 2.8 GHz xeon workstation OR Apple Power Mac dual 1.42 GHz G4 system configured to meet the requirements above. This limitation pertains primarily to PC workstations, as Power Mac G4 systems contain integrated FireWire, which is on its own PCI bus segment. The PC workstations qualified for use with Avid Media Composer Adrenaline meet this dual PCI bus requirement. (2) Notebook systems may not deliver the performance required to support some resolutions.
