Model Details

The HC-210 is a compact, lightweight, rugged camera with high image quality and easy operation. Operational features include direct connection to a S-VHS-C compact VCR, or with an adapter, connection to S-VHS, Betacam, or Hi-8 VCRs. Microprocessor-based auto-control capabilities provide numerous viewfinder status displays for operator convenience. The HC-210 also includes a continuously-variable shutter which allows computer monitors to be displayed without flicker.

  • Hi-Performance CCDs
High-performance 1/2" IT CCDs featuring about 380,000 pixels (NTSC), 440,000 pixels (PAL) and a low-noise preamp, coupled with state-of-the-art video circuit technology, deliver a high level of specification: a horizontal resolution of 700 lines, S/N ratio of 62dB, and a minimum subject illumination of 8 lux
  • Reduced Smear
CCD-induced artifacts such as smear, moire, ringing and fixed pattern noise are substantially reduced to achieve gripping picture quality.
  • Auto Knee
Auto Knee always preserves optimum dynamic range against incoming light, ensuring consistent video reproduction without washed-out appearance for subjects against strong backlight.
  • Video Matrix
A video matrix circuit adapts optical system color reproductions to keep vivid, beautiful colors. Detail Corrector
The HC-210 incorporates edge compensation circuitry (horizontal: both rise and fall with a comb filter, vertical: 2H) to give sharp detail to imagery. This helps reproduce crisp pictures.
  • Variable-Speed Electric Shutter
8 different shutter speeds (up to 1/4000th of a second) are selectable. Therefore, fast action can be captured without sacrificing resolution. It also comes with a variable shutter function that can be set anywhere between 1/60 and 1/150.7.
  • Filter
The HC-210 has a built-in CC filter disk to permit selection of a color temperature translation filter best suited to the surrounding lighting condition. In addition to 3000K, 5600 +1/16ND, and 5600K, an effect-filter with cross/soft effects comes standard with the HC-210.
  • Phantom Power Microphone
The HC-210 supports a microphone that requires a phantom power supply (+ 12V). The phantom, AB, and battery-driven microphones can be used as needed by switch selection.
  • Titling
At the start of VCR recording, the fide and date can be recorded. Up to four titles can be set, and with the aid of the remote control unit (RCU-240A) and camera control unit (MA-200A), the four titles can be easily selected.
  • Multifunctional 1.5" VF
Equipped with a 1.5" VF which provides a horizontal resolution of 450 TVL. This VF features viewing angle correction in addition to 220' rotating, sliding, and eyepiece closing mechanisms, all of which are designed to enhance the ease of camera operation. A wide range of character indicators allows the camera operator to check virtually all control status on the VF screen.
    [VF Character Capability]
  • Allowance for various VCRs
The HC-210 can be docked directly with the BR-S422, S-VHS or IR-S420C, S-VHS-C portable VCR. With the aid of adapters, it can be docked with various type of compact VCRs as well.
  • Scene filing capability
The scene filing capability provides a memory setting of camera-shot status data (AWB, ABB, SHUTTER, GAIN, etc.) for up to four scenes.
  • Auto Whfte Balance Control
Two memories A and B are available in addition to 3000° K preset, so that rapid changes in shooting condition can be handled.
  • Microcomputer Control
Microcomputer-based control functions eliminate time consuming setup tasks, always keeping the camera at its best.
