HD Portable and Studio Companion of the HDC-700A Camera. HD 1920x1080, SMPTE-292. not 24p

Model Details

HD Portable and Studio Companion Camera. The HDC-750A studio companion to the HDC-700A.Utilization of the 2/3" 2,000,000 pixel imagers allows the camera to be similar in size to current studio companions while providing images of 1920 X 1080.Camera can operate as a companion camera or a stand-alone system when used with the HDW-250.

  • High Picture Performance
  • Full sampling 2/3" CCD Standard BVP Series 525 SDTV 1920 x 1035 (SMPTE 260M 1995)
  • Hyper-HAD™ Frame-Interline Transfer CCD Technology
  • Enhanced Operation
  • Selectable colorimetry (Linear Matrix Select)
  • Viewfinder assists (for 4:3 Differentiation from 16:9 HDTV)
  • HDTV Serial Digital Interfaces Outputs (SMPTE 292M) at Digital Camera Control Unit
  • HDTV Analog Outputs
  • Audio Systems
  • SDTV Serial Digital Interface
  • SDTV Progressive scan Option
  • SDTV aspect ratio selection:-Full 16:9 (Squeeze mode)-Letter box (4:3)-Center crop (4:3) - with Pan-scan
  • Independent control of SDTV image enhancement and color linear matrix
  • Optical fiber link between camera heads and CCU (cable and connector are in the final stage of SMPTE approval)
  • Produces highest MTF in both the horizontal and vertical domain. Same optical interface as standard BVP series 525 SDTV camera-- supporting convenient lens interchange.
  • Equipped with newly developed two million pixels FIT CCD imager, the HDC-750A achieves 1080 of active lines per frame.
  • The newly developed two million pixel 2/3-inch FIT CCD provides excellent picture quality. For sensitivity, it achieves F8.0 at 2000 Lux.
  • Featuring high-speed electronic shuttering, ClearScan, Extended ClearScan (ECS), Extended Vertical Definition (EVD) controls
  • Facilitates conformity to SMPTE 274M or prior SMPTE 240/260M.
  • The synergistic effect between the CCD sensor structure and the advanced support electronic circuitry enables the HDC-750A to deliver a high luminance S/N ratio of 54 dB (1125 output) /60dB (525 component output).
  • A total of two million picture elements assures a high horizontal luminance resolution of 1000 TV lines.
  • Crucial to provide camera operator with the ability to subsequently down-convert the HDTV origination to 4:3 SDTV.
  • In the HDC-750A, the combination of FIT charge transfer technique and the CCD sensor reduces the vertical smear to a remarkable level of -125 dB.
  • Built-in HD SDI interfaces deliver three full baseband 1.5Gbps serial video outputs (with embedded program audio). One HD SDI output for monitoring. Four HD SDI inputs for return video. Facilitates total HDTV systemization.
  • 1125/60/59.94 component analog output (in conformity with SMPTE/240M) allows convenient interface to existing HDTV systems.
  • Up to 600% is achieved with HDC-750A.
  • Either an HD lens or conventional 2/3 inch lens can be mounted allowing the conventional lens now being used everyday on all Sony 525 cameras and camcorders to be used with the HDC-700A for an easier migration to DTV.
  • Two microphone channels (cam head)Two program channels (CCU input)Two intercom channels
  • Sophisticated built-in down-converter produces a very high quality 525-line SDTV serial digital output, that can be selected as serial digital composite NTSC or 4:2:2 component 601 to facilitate convenient interface to diverse existing 525-line systems.
  • It is not only integrated into 1125 system but also integrated into conventional 525 environment alternatively. Its 525 output enables integration in both component and composite system or both digital and analog system. When shooting as the 1125 equipment, the aspect ratio can be changed within three modes on monitors -- squeeze, edge clop or letterbox. Its simultaneous 1125/525 output capability even realizes the dual system using the 1125 switcher and 525 switcher alternatively. The possibility of simulcast program is lying before you.
  • This function makes it possible to capture clear and blur-free image of fast moving objects. Shutter speed can be selected as 1/100, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000 and 1/2000 seconds.
  • An alternative downconverter board will be offered later in 1998 to support a 480P progressive scan SDTV output (according to SMPTE 294M standard).
  • Allows operational choice of the 525-line SDTV output signal most appropriate to the needs of 4:3 NTSC simulcast operation, widescreen SDTV or off-line editing of HDTV
  • With HDC-750A, an optional innovative technique involving the vertical shutter mechanism can be applied, allowing it to approach the vertical enhancement capability of the frame integration mode. With Super EVS in use, the charges accumulated in the adjacent lines used in pairs are not simply added before readout. Only a small amount of the charges collected in one of the adjacent lines is added to the entire amount of the charges accumulated in the related line. This result is enhanced vertical resolution with no line flicker or picture blur.
  • The HDC-750A inherits a familiar auto setup system of the other successive cameras, which execute adjustment of the camera based on a test signal from a built-in signal generator. Thanks to the stability of CCD images, this camera provides more accurate and reliable auto setup.
  • Facilitates separate adjustment to the 525-line SDTV output to allow matching of image to existing SDTV studio equipment
  • Supports full digital baseband two-way transmission. The 1.5Gbps video (with all program audio, intercom, control and status data embedded) provides a far superior integrity of transmission than is presently possible with Triax links in the SDTV domain.
