The Argus Spectrum multi-stream broadcast encoding solution extends the functionality of Vela's established Argus MPEG-2 encoder product line. This is accomplished adding support for the simultaneous real-time creation of MPEG-2 (4:2:2 or 4:2:0), MPEG-1, Real G2, and Windows Media formatted streams derived from the same video source.
Real-time encoding and multiplexing in MPEG-1, MPEG-2 MP@ML and MPEG-2 4:2:2P@ML formats.
Ligos MPEG-1 encoding software allows simultaneous encoding at MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 bit rates. Time code to match that of the main MPEG-2 stream can be enabled.
RealNetwork streams can be created on the Spectrum with the RealProducer option and later played back using the popular RealPlayer ® application, which can be downloaded by the user for free.
Windows Media-formatted files can be created using the Windows Media optional software, then played back on the Windows Media player application, free for downloading from Microsoft.
Encoding bit rates up to 50Mbps, depending on type and number of secondary stream encodes.
Each output stream, including the main MPEG-2 stream, is easily configurable using a Vela-exclusive setup application.
Composite and component (SMPTE 259M) video input.
