Our patented dynamic control ports actually swap transmit (TX) and receive (RX) pin assignments at the connector! Software on the router control card determines which device is controlling, and which is being controlled, and sets port direction appropriately. Machine-to-machine, as well as editor-to-machine connections are possible without reconfiguration or cable swapping.
Overcome Point-to-Point Limitations
Traditional data routers are point-to-point devices – a source can only be connected to one destination at a time. Capitalizing on the unique functionality offered by the dynamic port system both data routers offer a broadcast, or one-to-many, mode. Perfect for duplication houses, you can slave as many devices together as needed under a single controller.
In addition to dynamic operation, port definition can be manually assigned. Supplied configuration and maintenance software lets you set port attributes on a port-by-port basis. Hardware is available to support the RS232 specification as well as RS422/485. This functionality allows you to incorporate a high level of customization even if your control system doesn’t offer native data routing support
A wide range of interface software is available to make adding our routers to your existing or new installation a snap. If our ENVY control system is used, a host of advanced features designed to make data router operation even more intuitive are offered. You can define uni- and bi-directional devices from within ENVY, and choose automatic, semi-automatic or manual routing modes.
