Balanced or unbalanced differential analog inputs
Individual input polarity reversal
Maximum input and output levels greater than +24dBu
Four channel additive mixing to four outputs
The FRED MKII and MKIIA are housed in 1RU frames, both of which provide an economical method of additive mixing of any combination of four analog audio inputs to four independent outputs. Typical applications would be as a VTR or editor audio input selector.
Inputs and outputs are provided with XLR connectors, simplifying interconnection of audio signals.
Individual internal input gain controls in both units are automatically selected by the switching logic to maintain the output level at approximately unity gain regardless of how many inputs have been selected. The MKII includes selectable phase reversal on each input. The MKIIA does not contain the phase reversal feature.
The local control panel is connected to the front of the frame through a 25-pin connector. This panel can be removed and used remotely with a matching control cable. The switcher can also be operated with both a local and remote control panel.
